Product Description
Sherri Hunter, author of the best-selling Creating with Concrete, proves once again that concrete isn’t just for sidewalks anymore; it’s perfect for the garden too. A selection of 30 beautiful designs suggests the range of this increasingly popular material, and the illustrated instructions make the craft’s fundamentals easy to learn. Because the simplest projects come first, beginners can work their way through the book progressively, building on their skills. Novices will have fun making the carved trough, sandcast bowl, and elegant relief panel. More sophisticated projects, including a decorative walkway and polished table, come next, and they’ll bring charm to any outdoor space. More adventurous artists can unleash their creativity on a “Garden Guardian” sculpture or water feature. A Selection of the Crafters Choice and Homestyle Book Clubs.

I can’t say enough how thorough Ms. Warner-Hunter’s books are – they are step-by-step, material suggested, inspirational, and illustrated (photographic)! As an artist, this book was helpful in clarifying issues I had with materials: and, as a teacher, I believe even a middle or high schooler could follow this manual. Lark books are fabulous and this one of the best!

This a great idea book. Many fun and interesting projects. Directions and supplies needed are well explained.

As a beginner in cement/concrete work, I found her books to lack the photo detail portion of the instructions. If you’ve ever successfully followed instructions to build something without any pictures, illustrations, or diagrams, then you will be fine with this book. I found a couple projects that I wanted to try, but with no illustrations, I can’t figure out what she means in her written instructions.
This is not for beginners. The reviews that indicated her instructions were CLEAR and THOROUGH, boggle my mind – must be friends, or not beginners.

Wow! This book is so well done. Lots of images, a great variety of techniques demonstrated, a touch of humor… She present the work of a wide variety of artists to give a better idea of all the possibilities the concrete can offert.
The steps are clear, the images abondant, the information absolutly accurate.
You will need nothing else than this book to start your own creative work.
